Everybody by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins
Love in Everybody was a difficult character for me to play. I was challenged to consider why Love would strip the titular character down physically and verbally when I was taught that love – as a concept – is portrayed as gentle and patient. I considered the character of Love to be beyond patient and kind. Love wanted to see Everybody acknowledge their flaws, wear them proudly, and be the best version of themself that they can be. No matter what Everybody is like, Love accepts them at their foundation and is willing to follow them to Hell and back, literally.
